Fantastic puppetry special effects. I liked how it was able to be a simple, authentic Muppet movie after the 2011 did the heavy-lifting of reinvigorating the franchise. We’re left to have some playtime.

I’m a HUGE Muppets fan. HUGE. That said, I was bored to tears by the last film. I didn’t enjoy the premise, plot or the story. I was so surprised when the music got praise because I thought it was just mediocre. It played like a boring Muppet TV movie. I’ll wait to stream this but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the last film for a while.

I just don’t know if the Muppets work on film anymore. In an age of 3D films (oddly the Muppets have/had a 3D at Disney World) they just don’t measure up. All those medium shots get monotonous. Lately the only Muppet events that excite me are their Youtube things which make sense with the medium shot-only business.

In the good old days, the Henson company pushed technology… now it’s like the settled.
