I do love Spirit, but every time I watch it I just can't help but think that, as someone who spent a lot of time around horses, there is no way Spirit could have made that jump across the canyon without shattering both his legs. Or crushing Little Creek as well as his own ribs when he crumpled and rolled across the ground like he did after landing.

Given the height of the platform he leapt from and how low the ground he landed on was, in comparison.. sure, he might have made the distance with the momentum he'd built up.. but just not without irreparably destroying both his legs upon landing.

I've always quite liked this movie actually.

I do have a nitpick though: I'm not the biggest fan of Damon's voiceover. I don't know if it's the sound of his voice or delivery, but it always felt off whenever I heard it.

In reply to <a href="https://www.rotoscopers.com/2014/03/13/animation-addicts-podcast-62-spirit-stallion-of-the-cimarron-tradigital-animation/#comment-6298">Morgan Stradling</a>.

When I first got my TV I watched "Batman Begins" and the TruMotion was turned on. I kept wondering why the movie looked so bad. I did a little bit of research and found out about this horrible feature they include on new TVs now. I immediately turned it off and now it's my mission to warn other people of the horror that is TruMotion! If you guys film a public service announcement, I'd be happy to help out LOL. I feel everyone should be warned about this! We need to alert people immediately while there's still time! :-)

YES! Glad I'm not the only one who detests it and sees it as an epidemic!

Great podcast, I loved Spirit! I always thought this was kind of an underrated animated movie. I think the animation is amazing and I actually liked the songs. I feel like they added an extra emotional element to the film.

Also, I wanted to comment on the "Motion Blur" effect on the TVs that you brought up. The feature is found on current HDTVs and is usually referred to as "TruMotion" on LG TVs, but each brand has their own term for it. It's not technically a motion blur, but it's supposed to smooth out the motion for you. A movie is filmed in 24 frames per second, and your TV, especially newer HDTVs, broadcasts at a higher rate. In order to combat this, they build in this feature to try to mathematically fill in the missing frames or "gaps" in order to create a more fluid motion. Unfortunately, the resulting effect looks cheap and has been nicknamed "The Soap Opera Effect" by critics. I agree with you though. It's horrible and it's the first thing that I turn off on TVs that I'm watching. I even tell my friends to turn it off or I turn it off for them!

Hehe I'm a proud Slytherin in Pottermore and in life - I'll just consider Morgan as having the best of both worlds!

Though I love when the whole gang is together, you guys make a great team and a great podcast. Love the analysis of the Colonel, I always liked him (although I do consider him a villain, if a more realistic one - leading the sacking of Native American villages is pretty evil, as you both say). Nice work, can't wait for the Hercules podcast!
