I used to love these books! My dad brought me a stuffed Paddington from London once. And on the subject of the new design, OHMAHGAWSH that is the second cutest thing I have seen all day. (First cutest being the picture of Vanellope Von Schweetz that is my desktop background.)

Oh wow. It is possible to die from cuteness?
If you ask me, the Christmas release date is perfect. You can just tell that this is going to be one of those movies that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Did the animation and general feeling of clip (along with the Christmas release date) give anyone else a Polar Express vibe?

I remember a stop motion show when I was kid, but I don’t remember him being from Peru. Collin Firth doesn’t exactly have the right accent fro someone originating from South America..

In reply to Esther. I meant it more like the designs, The Smurfs and Yogi Bear had really cartoony characters in our world and in my opinion, it didn´t work. Paddington looks really realistic and I´m really happy about that because it looks much better so far.

Ditto in hoping this won’t be like Smurfs or Yogi Bear. But I’ve many other cartoons and films where the antagonist is a crazy zoo-keeper or animal-stuffer like Captain DuBois from “Madagascar 3” .
Paddington’s been loved for generations and if they’re trying to bring more people in by mentioning “producers of Harry Potter” I’m game. Here’s hoping they treat Paddington with respect since he had a sense of courtesy in the books. (He loves marmalade but he’s not a picnic-basket thief or a rapper-wananbee!) He certainly got into trouble a lot, not understanding how society worked, but he had good intentions and was so polite and adorable that you couldn’t help but love Paddington!
