I think this is a good idea. This is what I wanted them to do in the first place. I didn’t care for the first film, and I didn’t see the second one because I heard people say it was terrible. But now, I’m sort of looking forward to this now that I know it’s an origin story and going to be full animated. I’m curious to see who they will get to play Papa Smurf, seeing as Jonathan Winters died. I doubt they’re going to cut the character from the film entirely because Papa Smurf is a part of their origin story. I don’t think there’s going to be anyone who would as good for the role as Jonathan was.

Wow! It took them two terrible CGI/live-action hybrid films for them to come to there senses. Although in hindsight, this SHOULD have been their approach to the franchise in the first place!

Not quite a reboot, but it’s the next best thing.

I actually liked the first one. I knew it was not going to be THE movie of the year. I felt though that it was still entertaining. People who watched this and Transformer as well as G.I. Joe need to realize that these works were great as cartoons, but they were also not that great storytelling . Take off your rose tinted glasses and you will enjoy them a little more.

I never ready liked the smurf movies but it sounds like a good move to make it all animated
