How about instead of complaining about the fact that it isn’t 2D, we celebrate the fact that a computer animated series of this caliber is even on TV in the first place? I mean, just look at the detail on the models for the droid and the ships!

How can anyone not be excited about this? Do you really expect something awful from the likes of Dave Filoni and Greg Weismann, who have worked on some really great animated series? If the trailer comes out and the animation isn’t up to par, then fine. Maybe Disney decided to cut back the budget they had from the Clone Wars. But until then, I can’t believe that what they will be bringing us will be anything less than awesome. So all of you who are poo-pooing this show, how about some positivity ?

I think you’re mistaken. If you go to Youtube and watch the video introducing Hera, there’s a couple of shots of finished and near finished animation that look just as amazing as the animation we got in season 5 of the Clone Wars.

I felt that way when I first started watching the Clone Wars, but it’s grown on me and I kind of like it. With Rebels, they’ve slimmed down the animation so it’s less edgy which I think works better.

I totally agree, I thought the characters look cool even as 2D ,but the CGI looks really bad, it looks like a step back from the clone wars. as much as I love nearly all of Disney Channels Animations, this is not helping , I really wanted Rebels to be a classic animation
