This was certainly a unique movie, very different from mainstream animated films I’ve seen, but truly witty and charming storytelling. The setting of 1910 Paris and themes of movie-making within movie-making is clever and a good opportunity to expect the unexpected. The characters are hilarious; I love Lucille’s sassy attitude and I definitely got a “Phantom” vibe with her and the maksed Francourd singing.

Nice episode! I remember this movie having a pretty big release here in The Netherlands (and other parts of Europe), I also remember a lot of commercials on TV and advertisements in magazines but I still haven’t seen it, so after this episode I definitely have to check it out soon!

Some animated movies made by smaller studios may surprise you. I like The Princess and the Goblin which was also made in Europe.

I love this episode! So good. It’s a bummer this film wasn’t distributed in the US. I wish more people would give this movie a chance.
