Animated films have got that covered since Shrek and Shrek 2. And this year, Frozen, a winter release, beat all the summer blockbusters at the box office except for Iron Man 3 (and it has a very slim chance of beating that one too), so now that term isn’t even that great an achievement for animations! :p

Lol oh yeah I know. I’m not old though (just turned 18), but that’s what was on TV where I lived when I was a kid. I’ll make sure to check these out, already added them to my To-See List. Thank you.
Oh and one question: what’s you’re favorite animated movie?

In reply to tt. That's true. My taste is for movies with a lot of heart in addition to adventure and very, very little humor like Wall-E and Toy Story 3. I don't even mind if the whole movie is depressing like Grave of the Fireflies. I didn't say I don't like Frozen. I loved it actually, but it was trying too hard to be funny sometimes in my opinion. We never saw that kind of tone in Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin. I mean, there was a little humor in these at times, but it didn't feel overly done.

In reply to Fadi Antwan. Oh wow, you're going waaaay back. I highly HIGHLY suggest checking out films by Satoshi Kon if you're looking for serious, adult drama. Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, and Tokyo Godfathers are just outstanding (and critically acclaimed). You can watch them all for free online streaming via google search. If you don't have a lot of time to invest in a feature length film, I suggest checking out Magnetic Rose which is a short film (roughly 40 minutes).

In reply to Brianna. I don't watch anime or TV cartoons anymore, but I used to be addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh. I also watched many many other anime TV series as a kid. Future Boy Conan and Hello! Sandybell are some I can remember. They were awesome :D!

I think they made a good job not putting pop-cultured references in their jokes and actually tried new jokes. it didn't ruin the film, it actually save the film since so many people love olaf by now. I think u r a person that likes extremely deep movies...
