I was born 4 days after this came out on March 30th 1997! Also where has Mark Dindal been? Also I find it interesting that the villain is a girl and that even though she’s a kid she’s still a pretty threatening villain Darla to me is the only character I like because it’s not like she’s being a bully to Danny you actually take the fact that she’s evil really seriously at first you think oh Darla is a lame villain because she’s a little girl and we usually don’t see little kids as main antagonists in many animated films and when we do see them it’s usually in cartoons where their being mean to the other kids but then say there sorry in the end but Darla isn’t that kind of kid she let’s you know she’s pure evil and isn’t afraid to show it she’s PSYCOTIC ! She may be be a kid but she means buissness that is why she deserves to be called a true villain and she doesn’t apologize to Danny because you would think if you haven’t seen the movie ” the villain of the movie is a little girl? HA HA HA do you honestly expect me to buy the fact that this little can be a threatening villain and threaten to kill Danny with her bare hands ? But in the end you’re able to buy the fact that she is a true villain and a real monster that is why Darla will always be my favorite underrated villain I could care less about the other charecters as most of them are bland and forgettable but Darla will always be the one character that I enjoy in this movie and she reminds me of Angelica from Rugrats. oh and John Rhys Davies as the elephant . Ghimli is one of my favorite characters from Lord of the Rings

I think they were referring to “Cats Don’t Dance” as being the only FULLY animated feature film that Turner Feature Animation produced.

But it’s always cool to hear that real animators and animation-based people read these posts.

“CATS DON’T DANCE” deserves at least a mention on any list that consists of the best films about filmmaking and the industry (most notably Fellini’s “8 1/2”, but also “THE ARTIST”, “HUGO”, “THE BAD & THE BEAUTIFUL”, and “THE PLAYER”). Is there any other example of an animated/family film that is about Hollywood? That’s what makes this film unique and more layered than most people, even animation fans, realize.
