In reply to The Animation Commendation. Yes - how sometimes you can acknowledge that one movie (in your case, Mary Poppins) is made better than another (Beauty and the Beast), but you're more likely to watch Beauty and the Beast over and over again more.

I think that “Feed the Birds” is the BEST song in Mary Poppins, it’s emotional, and… Well, yeah XD

I’m glad you brought up this distinction – I thought I was the only one who used that! I think it’s a concept many critics don’t consider.

I do personally believe that “Mary Poppins” is the BEST Disney movie ever made (at least from the ones I’ve seen), but “Beauty and the Beast” is still my FAVORITE.

Mary Poppins was the Disney movie I grew up with and never got tired of after watching it over and over, and it’s nice to see it get some recognition. I feel sometimes like it’s pushed between Disney’s animated hits and “The Parent Trap.”
And really, who wouldn’t want a fabulous hold-all purse like Mary Poppins’?
