I love this Morgan! Cinderella is amazing, and truly is under-appreciated, and so I am glad that you were able to stand up for her so well 🙂 I’ve always loved Cinderella so much- when I was little I thought I was Cinderella, so I am glad that you stuck up for her 😉

I like how that headshot for the article with Cinderella smiling through the bars of the rat cage makes it seem like SHE is imprisoned but is radiant and happy despite her situation. Totally fitting for the character and the analysis made about her in this article!

A great way to stick up for Cinderella! I too adore this character and many of the characteristics that she embodies especially her kindness and her ability to work hard. I wish I had even an ounce of the kindness and her hardworking ability in me, then I’d really be proud of myself. And when the time comes for me to marry, the number one characteristic that I want in a wife is kindness, which is what Cinderella represents.

I hate when people complain about her not doing much for herself. But, what was there for her to do?

She could lash out and refuse to obey the commands of her stepmother and stepsisters, but like Morgan said, she realizes that’ll just be futile and beneath her. And she doesn’t hate these people. Rather she respects them because they’re the people that her father chose to bring into the family and she honors her father’s decision.

She could run away from her home. But I’m pretty sure that the stepmother would’ve sent the palace guards after her and they most definitely would be convinced by the stepmother that Cinderella is in the wrong. I highly doubt that Cinderella would be able to evade the palace guards’ capture by hiding in the forest and finding refuge in a cottage with seven dwarfs.

All in all, I believe she did what she could do and made the best of her situation. And if I had a hat, I’d tip it to her. If I could give out medals, I’d give her the highest-ranking medal that the USA can give to a person.

I totally agree with this! Cinderella is the epitome of dignity and grace. She knows the kind of good person she wants to be and won’t let horrible people or circumstances change her into being bitter like everyone else. She uses kindness to stay on the best terms possible and gets help returned from those she has helped, the mice.
That’s why I’m worried about the Live Action Cinderella movie coming out… I read that they made her more modern and rebellious….but Cinderella should be mature for her age, peaceful, and selfless instead! She’s not Merida.. :/

It makes me kind of sad that Cinderella isn’t more appreciated. Being a passive character doesn’t make her a weak character. You could also say that weilding a sword doesn’t make a strong character either. The way I see it, she gets through the day with patience and kindness and she is eventually rewarded for it. We learn from her that good things come to those who wait. I personally don’t think that’s a bad message to little girls, boys, or anyone really.

although she was mistreated and her life was miserable, she also keeps her humor. “I would have to interrupt their….(sarcasm)music lesson).” “hmm…there SHOULD be something good about him (Lucifer)”. I love how she jokes around like that.
