I have a question about the whole big 4 shipping thing. 3 of the big 4 are in relationships, one of which is married. Do fans just completely ignore this. I’ve heard the whole Jack Frost and Elsa thing and that irritates me. If people pay attention, u can catch the looks Jack and Tooth give each other right after they hug at the end of the movie. Rapenzal is married. Hiccup has a girlfriend and the whole point of Brave was Merida didn’t want do be forcd into a relationship. That’s exactly what these beg 4 people our doing. Ok, I’ll step off my soap box now.

Upstairs vs. Downstairs is a great theme in the movie. The “proper” upper world is devoid of color while “downstairs” the dead are having a colorful party–flipping everything upside down.

Great podcast! This is the first one that I’ve ever listened to and I really love it; I’ll have to listen to all the previous ones. And I want to do the voicemail sometime!

I’ve only seen “Corpse Bride” once (when it came out on DVD) and I remember liking it, but like you all, I don’t really remember much else. I really have to see this film again.

Coming from a culture where arranged marriages are common, I quite like this movie that they actually featured an arranged marriage, and not an unsuccessful one. I know in the West, arranged marriages are quite looked down upon, and it’s understandable because many of them are done with ulterior motives or have huge age gaps or just aren’t happy marriages. But for every unsuccessful arranged marriage, there are a plethora of arranged marriages that actually does end up loving and happy (my family is filled with many examples of these), so I was quite happy to see a positive portrayal of this in an animated film.

Whenever I hear the name “Emily”, I get confused because not only is the character named Emily, but Victoria’s voice actress is Emily Watson, so I always have to remember which Emily you’re talking about, lol!

All in all, love the podcast!
