I don't mind these posters, and I like Olaf and Sven, but I agree. They need to start marketing the actual film, not JUST the two comic relief sidekicks. I bet half the people who have heard of this film just think it's a silly comedy about a goofy snowman and a reindeer! The film is just a little bit over two months away, and if they keep making it look like a brainless kiddie movie (which it's not) it probably won't fare too well, at least in the US. The marketing in other countries seems to be advertising the film it actually is!

The focus of the Despicable Me 2 marketing campaign was Minions and that movie is on its way to $900 million worldwide as we speak. Kids like stupid, funny figures. Neither we nor companies can deny or change that. If the movie makes money and will be good, then it's a win-win situatuion for everyone.

What? No Anna, No Kristoff, and no Elsa? HELLO DISNEY! But I agree with some reviewers about the posters. Disney is marketing their films like dreamworks movies because parents think children will go see movies like that than a movie that is high brow. Basically parents and forcibly dumbing down kids in terms of movies

Honestly, I like the posters. They're cute. :) Because Tangled was marketed a similar way and it was a success, I think I'll trust Disney on how they market their films.

Come on, guys, this is the Disney Company - I think they have some idea about how to market a film. A family film poster appealing to kids is kind of a no-brainer. Worst case scenario is that the movie tanks and they never try a campaign like this again - Lasseter made it clear that the history of the studio is it's focal and strongest point creatively. They aren't going to give up princess, fairytale or musical films any time soon!

Have a look at the French Elsa poster, which looks like one of the great silhouette posters from the Disney Renaissance era. THAT'S how you make a poster.

That, or a poster actually showing Elsa unleashing her powers. Excitement, action, something the casual movie-goer might actually want to pay to see.
