Well, Pablo did write a whole article about it. He mostly dealt with the themes of the writing, whereas I would also talk about the construction of the writing – the way everything is structured, there’s nothing wasted – every line, every action has a connection to something else that makes the film work.

I mean, it’s definitely not a bad movie or anything, but to me it’s one of Pixar’s most forgottable films. I just don’t get what makes it so good that people hype so much about it and the sequel? I guess I’m just not into superhero movies the same way as most people are. It’s a good movie, but I don’t feel the need to watch it ever again. Most Pixar movies I have seen over 10 times and never get bored with them, but there’s just something about The Incredibles that I just don’t care about it.

Keep up the analysis and enthusiasm! I’d definitely be interested in a contrasting article on Megamind, which I think had great ideas, but really didn’t achieve the same level of character and structure that Bird accomplished.
