I still wish that Tangled was marketed a little better because the trailers do not do the film justice. I wish Tangled could have gotten a trailer like the Wreck-It Ralph or Japanese Frozen one but oh well. I'm just glad that Tangled got the money it deserved because it truly is one of Disney's best.

Ok, so far I've liked individual aspects of Frozen. But I look forward to seeing how it does in foreign theatres. It seems like the Frozen that is being advertised to the British here, is slightly different than the movie being advertised to the Japanese, or the French. I wonder how this slightly different perception will affect the movie-goers when it's actually time to see the movie.

Just between you and me, I'm not all that into Olaf. So much of the film seems classy, and Olaf seems to stick out like a sore thumb in the midst of it.... Well, Marshmallow is also kinda cute and non-classy.... which makes me wonder about Elsa's powers—if all of her creations turn out on the quirky side, she can't be that scary, right?

Ok, allow me to backtrack on my criticism. In the end, I'm sure the characters will be seamlessly woven into a beautiful, touching story. I was very skeptical of Wreck-It Ralph, but was pleasantly surprised. Surprise me again, Walt. ;)

Pathetic! I can't belive they've chosen this one to the French ones...

However, It's OK for me if this helps to get more people to see the movie. It worked with Tangled, so....

Remember how they promoted The Princess and The Frog: "In the tradition of Walt Disney's most beloved classics"

And the movie didn't go as they expected(I know it wasn't very good, though). Look that "Trouble" Tangled trailer...and look at how the movie went...

I think they're just trying a different angle to broaden the market, trying to avoid what happened with Princess and the Frog. If they had billed it as a princess musical first, the demographic would have been narrow from the beginning. By showing the comedic side of things first, it wins over even more people. By the time the fairytale aspect is revealed later, "non-fairytale" people won't mind because they're already hooked.... and THEN people who are into fairytales are hooked as well.

They seem to be really intentional about making Olaf a crowd favorite, a character you feel attached to before you even go to the movie, and I think that could go far.
