“Turbo” is incredibly derivative of “Cars.”

“Megamind” on the other hand is actually pretty good.

I’m probably gonna skip this DreamWorks film. Because DreamWorks releases about 3 films a year, it is difficult to find that special one worth going to the theaters for.

I think Dreamworks success in recent years is when they don’t try to copy Disney/Pixar. I’ve read feedback that people felt “Turbo” was a knock-off of “Ratatouille” and personally I thought “Megamind” was doing something similar to “The Incredibles”.

But you’re right, they’ve been making some great films since “HTTYD”
that adults and kids can enjoy together. And when they go in their own direction it can be fun, cool, and/or inspirational. Since a lot of older viewers grew up with Peabody/Sherman there’s a market for the nostalgia factor of people who remember the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. I’m looking forward to some hilarious moments in history…Bill and Ted, anyone?

I think it’ll be pretty good. Maybe not very deep like Dragons or Guardians, but something really funny like “The Croods.”

I’m loving the direction DreamWorks is going in . For the past few years, they have been making some great stuff and even one upping Pixar since 2011.
