I'm watching "tales from earthsea" right now and think Studio Ghibli has some of the best traditional animation movies this last decade so i'm looking forward to this one. It's a shame not more studios make these good quality animation movies.

I feel like at least in the West, we tend to over expose our films to the point where the film is no longer fresh by the time we put our butts in the seats. But at the same time, it'd be nice to know what you are getting yourself into, other than by way of a synopsis which may or may not be accurate. At this point I feel like a lot of what we know is speculation regarding this film. That being said, I still look forward to it, especially because I know I will be surprised in the end no matter what like during "From up on Poppy HIll".

I am, of course, extremely excited for this film. I adore Studio Ghibli, and I'm sure the film will be beautiful.

You have made a wonderful point stating how LITTLE Japan shows of their films and the same goes for their regular anime releases as well. They really do a great job of keeping everything top secret. They may release a few images or character designs a few months in advance, but trailers are usually only a month or two before the release. We should definitely consider ourselves lucky with the trailers and teasers we get months and months in advance in the west. Even the above "trailer" is really just a teaser considering it's under 40 seconds in length and shows exceptionally little.
