I’m so excited to see her in a role like this. You would expect evil step-mother, but this will give her a chance to further prove herself to play someone other than a villain. I’m sure she can carry it off 🙂

Super excited after this news. Just been bleh about this adaption up till now but with HBC in this it’s guaranteed to be worth movie ticket!

I’m sure she will be totally amazing, and will put her incredible and unique twist on the character as usual. I am really looking forward to these live action adaptations. They are awesome because they will bring the classic animated movies we all love, to life.

I have no doubts in her at all. She will do a fantastic job as always. I also read an article yesterday where the fairy godmother was described as an older peasant-like woman for a good portion of the film – which I think sounds a lot more like a role Helena Bonham Carter would take on (though I’m not sure where their source came from). The cast for this sounds like quite an outstanding lineup and the fact that Branagh is in charge makes this even better.
