Agree. For me, Fantasia just doesn’t mesh well with modern music. I like the classical aspect of the films. I appreciate Disney reviving the Fantasia brand, but this game just sounds commercial and unnecessary.

This game, however, seems like it’s going to be dated quickly. I really enjoyed Guitar Hero (never played Rockband), because all of those songs are considered rock classics. When you start throwing in newer artists like Bruno Mars and Fun (who may be completely wiped from the world of music over the next year), you pretty much set yourself up for failure. Even the song in this teaser will be considered “old” by the time the game is released at the end of the year (if this song is in the game, of course). I approve of their choice of Queen, but they are so far superior (as they are classic rock) than any of the artists named…I don’t know. It’s just very strange to me? I know that through contemporary music they’re trying to attract younger audiences, but it just turns me off from it. I don’t want to judge the game entirely since that teaser just shows people dancing with fireworks coming out of their hands and no actual gameplay. But from what that teaser does show, I’m not into it.

Couldn’t they have just added a huge Fantasia World in an upcoming Kingdom Hearts console game? Now THAT would have been AMAZING.
