haha Yay, Sailor Moon support! I watched the dub growing up (and it will forever hold a place in my heart – love the music from DIC too), but I love the original Japanese version. I’m one of those crazy fans though with a full out Sailor Moon cosplay haha. I can’t wait for the new anime even though it’s been delayed till some unforeseen time in the future.

You’ve mentioned a lot of reasons why the film was good. Good director and I have to add good storytellers too. It was entertaining for adults as much as children and while there were some funny moments, it didn’t “dumb things down” for the audience. The movie told a good story from begining to end. Even if we’ve seen this theme before, Dreamworks put a fresh stamp and spin on it.

The dialogue is good but I find a lot of strength of the film comes from the emotions brought out in the visuals. Toothless can’t talk to Hiccup so they have to communicate through gestures and facial expressions. And that’s what a great animated film does. It doesn’t just tell you a story–it SHOWS you.

Speaking of great dragons how about Falcor the Good Luck Dragon from “The Neverending Story”? He’s awesome! And Mushu from “Mulan” too.

In reply to Brianna. I second Sailor Moon. Talk about "kids rule!" about the 90's, this was the ultimate Girl Power show that won us over for weekday afternoons. Every girl in my high school wanted to be a "Sailor Scout" and yes, we watched the English dub.

Awesome new podcast, guys! I’m WICKED excited for your podcast involving old school Cartoon Network cartoons! Right away shows like Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Lab, and Courage the Cowardly Dog came to mind. If you guys ever decide to review some Toonami..*COUGH SAILOR MOON COUGH* I’d probably have a heart attack from sheer joy and excitement.
