Can Disney afford to rely on their legacy to market their films? Their past few have been wonderful; on par with the Disney Renaissance films. But I still don’t think Disney has the luxury to lean on their past successes (and I hate saying that because I love Disney)

I HOPE there is a Frozen panel at Comic Con this year. It seems like the obvious thing for them to do. The WIR panel was a hit!

Also, I am concerned about how briefy they teased Frozen at CinemaCon. Last year, Ralph had a 6 minute scene shown. From what I hear, this year, they had a brief snippet that was a few seconds long.

Maybe the reason they are keeping everything under wraps, is to keep the foreign copies from popping up before the film hits the screen. The copies are inevitable, but if they surface before “Frozen” makes it’s debut, it may affect the overall ticket sales for the film. Particularly in the foreign market, as that’s where most studios make their money.

What must we do to appease the gate-keepers of “Frozen”? Offer them gifts brimming with hot chocolate and carve ice sculpters of our favorite Disney characters? *Is getting out the ice pick*

Maybe because of today’s lightning-speed technology and the internet is why they have put their work under such tight wraps. When they showed half-done sketches on a VHS in the 90’s we’d tell each other about it by word of mouth. But now someone might take a photo with a cell phone and paste it on the web for millions to see in just five minutes. Once it’s out there, fake or real, it’s hard to remove it!

Could be Disney is also getting more protective of their secrets with such competition from Dreamworks and other animation companies they don’t want anyone copying their ideas. Maybe like a Coke vs. Pepsi thing.

Morgan, do you know if there is going to be a Disney panel at Comic Con this year? Perhaps they’ll wait until after the convention and al the summer blockbusters have been released to give us official updates on “Frozen”.
