i agree with alissa as far as seeing continuation of characters we grow to love from Pixar.

one of their greatest strengths in my pov is that as all original characters we cannot get our fix for these charatcers anywhere else.

like the little mermaid and wanna know more? get the hans christian anderson novel. interested in rapunzel? find the grimm version or any of the films made prior to tangled.

yet wanna know about buzz? or elastigirl? or merida?
aint no one gunna give u those answers except the giant lamp itself! 🙂

Ok, not “sequel-crazy”, but Pixar has always prided itself on original fare, so to see it succumbing to obvious corporate pressure from Disney is a little… disturbing. (TS2, Cars 2, were both decisions influenced by Disney to cash in on the franchise popularity- and Finding Dory definitely is as well). Nevertheless, I’m sure it will be great! =)

Pixar is just so great… I love seeing continuation of characters, but I always feel like I am missing out on some other great story that they could be creating instead of a sequel.

Oh, sequel-crazy? Finding Dory will only be the fifth sequel Pixar does and we have 3 confirmed original movies on the way + that Teddy Newton mystery film. I don’t think that’s too bad =)

I think it will be good because ‘Finding Dory’ doesn’t mean Dory is the protagonist. Nemo wasn’t in Finding Nemo! I would like to see Dory as a secondary main character, growing and learning and developing more relationships of her own because in essence, she was a lonely character.

And about Dory going through hell, that’s why we watch movies! Think of the Toy Story gang. They’ve suffered through everything! But we love them because we love to watch struggling characters. So I’m confident Finding Dory will be like TS2. An equal, if not better movie than its original.

I hope the Dory overload is not like Mater (although everyone unanimously loves Dory to bits). I think this movie is in good hands and we won’t be disappointed- although I hate that Pixar is going sequel-crazy now (but I still want a sequel to The Incredibles!). Still, as the super Disney-Pixar fans that we are, we ought to be excited! “Just Keep Swimming…Just Keep Swimming…Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…”
