The opposite for me, I hope they’ll make him as interesting as the OUAT character, which is layered, and not good or evil, but both. I think Carlyle redefined an unknown character and Disney should do well to take after that.

Whilst I LOVE movies such as wreck-it ralph and Lilo & Stich, and Meet The Robinsons, Disney’s interpretations of Fairytales will always be my favourite. I’ve been waiting for this one 🙂

without a doubt I concur. Soaring popularity of OUAT has shown the suits that classics fairytales still draw the crowds in whatever way you present em. My hopes are high that the Rumple animated film comes out with no relation to the OUAT character.

agreed matt – tangled was great but a BIG part of me kept wishing it looked a little more like Little Mermaid or Beauty & the Beast. 2D seemed a better fit. But then again I wonder if the majority of U12’s who’ve only known 3D hits would have resonated with the film with quite the same fevour if it was 2D. No matter Musker & Clements have their nose pretty on the button every time so here’s hoping!

There’s nothing wrong with them recreating fairytales, personally, I think that Disney’s fairytale related stories are the best. I was just merely questioning the timing of the movie 🙂 I love both OUAT and Disney, so this would be awesome!

CG is great but there’s room for both forms. Story is the most important thing (some stories are better suited for hand drawn some are better for cg). I didn’t like The Princess and the Frog that much because I just found the whole story unispiring. I loved Tangled but I really think it would have been better if it was hand drawn and if Glen Keane would have stayed on as Director. I had high hopes for Winnie the Pooh but it couldn’t live up to the original shorts. I feel that Wreck it Ralph was just Disney’s best attempt at a “Dreamworks” movie. I hope Frozen turns out great but I’m becoming skeptical. I do not plan to see Big Hero 6. Rumplestiltskin would be a great film for Disney to do. Hopefully it gets made. Anything Ron and John do has me excited. I really would like to see Disney bring back great film makers to their Animation studio like Roger Allers, Mike Gabriel, Brenda Chapman, and Don Hahn.

Rump’s from “Once Upon A Time” is complex and so interesting because of the relationship with the other characters. I am more interested for Disney to release “King Of The Elves.”; hopefully sooner than later. But whatever comes from Clements and Musker will be golden.
