There’s a lot of potential material from the Joyce books to create a sequel but it looks like that won’t happen any time soon after Dreamworks has taken a nosedive. Maybe because it was competing with “Wreck It Ralph” and other holiday movies that the film didn’t do as well, maybe it was the marketing. I’m not sure what caused the loss.

While ROTG isn’t a flawless movie, I still say it’s one of the better Dreamworks films that came out in recent years. I’ve been watching animation for nearly 30 years and this movie struck an emotional chord with me. The audience cheered and clapped when I saw it in the theater. The animation details and character designs are some of the most creative and beautiful visuals I’ve seen ever since Dreamworks did “The Prince of Egypt”. Like I said, a pitythey aren’t interested in a sequel (or a prequel; a lot of fans want to know
about Nicholas St. North’s past) because if they tried again them I’m sure Dreamworks could turn out a four-star film.
