One thing I always wondered was this, is Aladdin really lying to Jasmine about being a prince? He did wish to become one, so wouldn’t he technically be one? It’s not like he just dressed up in some new clothes and pretended to be a prince, he would have been an official prince. If the wish was truly granted, then Genie would have given him everything he needed and it would be reality. He would have had a history, lineage, a kingdom, etc. His entire past would have been re-written to make him a legitimate prince. In the movie though, it always comes across like Aladdin just changed his clothes and was hoping Jasmine wouldn’t know that he wasn’t a prince. However, he really was one. There was no need for the lie. There was no need to lie to Jasmine. The only thing the would technically have to lie about would be about the Genie. That’s it. I say believe in your wish. You wished to be a prince and you are one….now own it!
