Our favourite trouble-making duo George and Harold are back with more hijinks in Season 3 of DreamWorks’ The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants! Netflix has released the trailer for the new season, which sees George and Harold attending their long-awaited Lake Summer Camp… with a big obstacle they must overcome.

Here is the official Season 3 synopsis:

Based on the epic novels by Dav Pilkey (over 80 million copies in print!) comes the third season of DreamWorks The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants. This season, George Beard and Harold Hutchins have their wish granted when they get to spend summer at Lake Summer Camp! But their happiness is short lived when they’re split up into separate camps both run by none other than mean Camp Director (aka Principal) Krupp! Join the boys as they scheme to save the summer by ousting Krupp and creating the epic summer camp of their dreams.

Season 3 will feature the show’s regular cast, which includes Oscar-winner Nat Faxon as Mr. Krupp/Captain Underpants, Ramone Hamilton as Harold, Jay Gragnani as George, Jorge Diaz as Melvin, Sean Astin as Narrator, Erica Luttrell as Erica, Evan Kishiyama as Gooch, David Koechner as Mr. Meaner, Mindy Sterling as Melvin’s Mom, Lewis Black as Ragely J. Snarlingtooth, and Thomas F. Wilson as Major Messy/Camoflush.

Peter Hastings (Animaniacs) continues his role as executive producer, with Titmouse, Inc. once again providing the 2D animation that faithfully replicates Dav Pilkey’s illustrations.

All Season 3 episodes of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants will be available to stream on Netflix from July 19, 2019. For those not planning to see The Lion King remake on that date, this new season can serve as a fun alternative, especially for Captain Underpants fans.

Deep down in New Zealand, Karl "Karlamon" Smith is a Kiwi who is passionate in animation, seeing it as an artistic medium that expresses vast creativity and brings unique characters and worlds to life. Whenever an animation-related fact pops up, it will more than likely be cemented in his brain for a long time. Some of his favourite animated movies include Zootopia, Balto, Bolt, Over the Hedge, The Fox and the Hound, the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, The Iron Giant, and The Prince of Egypt. Prior to contributing to Rotoscopers, Karl has served as a bureaucrat on Ice Age Wiki, and a moderator/site builder/news reporter on Animation Source. Karl is also a Computer Science and Digital Design graduate of AUT University. That, and with his additional fascination in aviation, he hopes someday to be both an animator and a pilot (if that is even possible).
