New ‘Auntie Edna’ Short to Accompany ‘Incredibles 2’ Home Release

Exciting news from Incredibles 2 director Brad Bird!

Bird tweeted, “Many of you have suggested we show what transpired the night E babysat Jack-Jack. Well, we were WAAAY ahead of you! AUNTIE EDNA, an all-new short directed by i2 story supervisor Ted Mathot will be on the #Incredibles2 in-home release available on Digital 10/23 and Blu-ray 11/6!”

The accompanying still bills the project as a “mini movie,” while Bird’s language instead lists it as a “short.” Marketing jargon aside, we can probably expect something along the lines of Pixar’s other direct-to-video shorts like Mike’s New Car or Dug’s Special Mission.

Starring arguably the film’s two most popular (not to mention hilarious) characters, Auntie Edna is sure to be a riot. Remember when everyone freaked out from excitement/panic/fandom iconicity when Jack-Jack Attack debuted back when The Incredibles made its DVD debut in 2005? Expect that, but amplified x10.

Will you buy Incredibles 2 to see Auntie Edna?
