Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and the whole gang are ready to celebrate the holidays. Mickey Mouse: Merry & Scary Holiday Collection will debut on DVD this fall, with its centerpiece being two half-hour specials of Disney Television Animation’s Mickey Mouse short-film series.

Here’s what to expect from the set:

The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular
For Halloween, Mickey has tricked out his house like a tomb, sweet, tomb. Hes also planned the perfect treat: a hair-raising Halloween story! However, his attempt at being scary falls flatter than a pancake. Can Mickey somehow conjure up a truly terrifying tale before the stroke of midnight?
Duck The Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special
Its the most wonderful time of the year to migrate south for the winter! But Donald wants to stay put and celebrate his first Christmas. Unfortunately, December is not kind to birds, and before you can catch a snowflake on your tongue, Donald has turned into a shivering, sneezing duck-cicle!
The Scariest Story Ever is an all-new and will premiere on Disney Channel this October, but owners of the DVD will get to see it first. Duck the Halls aired in 2016 with surprisingly minimal publicity. It’s a delightful story that amounts to a Mickey Mouse/DuckTales crossover (even including Russi Taylor reprising Huey, Dewey, and Louie).
Several online merchandisers list different release dates. Most (including Walmart, Best Buy, and Barnes & Noble) say September 26, while Target claims August 29.
The DVD set will also include five shorts from the Mickey Mouse series. There are no plans for a Blu-ray or digital compilation, though most shorts in the series are available for free, official viewing on YouTube. (If you need to catch up, there are several 35-minute compilation videos there that conveniently group the shorts by season.)
Mickey Mouse debuted in 2013 and is currently airing its fourth season on Disney Channel. Check out our review of the Season One DVD here.

Do you keep up with the Mickey shorts? Will you watch these holiday specials?
