Check Out the New ‘DuckTales’ Reboot Theme Song + Official Premiere Date!

Everybody say ‘Woo-oo!” Disney has released the official theme song for the eagerly anticipated DuckTales reboot, along with exciting details for the premiere of the brand new series!

To begin with, DuckTales will premiere on Disney XD in the form of a brand new animated TV movie marathon. Aptly titled ‘Woo-oo’ (what else?) the hour-long premiere will run 24 times in a row starting August 12 at midnight. The following month, on September 23, the show will officially begin its regular run with two new episodes airing simultaneously on Disney XD, the Watch Disney XD app, and VOD.

The DuckTales TV movie features Donald Duck reluctantly taking his three nephews—Huey, Dewey and Louie—to meet their Uncle Scrooge McDuck, the wealthiest duck in all of Duckburg. Soon, Scrooge and the nephews find themselves embroiled in an epic adventure involving ancient totems that takes them all the way to the Lost City of Atlantis.

That’s not all; to get everyone hyped for the big premiere, Disney has released the official theme song and opening titles for the new DuckTales show. It’s the same iconic song, but somehow even better (if that was even possible). It’s performed by Felicia Barton with the original composition by Mark Mueller and is a loving tribute not only to the classic DuckTales comics but also the original show. Count us in!

Are you gearing up for all the DuckTales excitement? What are your thoughts?

So excited. Can’t wait for the release of the show. I remember when i was little my brothers and i woke up would watch the OG show for an hour before school.

I also want to thank Disney for actually having Intros to their shows. Milo, Star vs, Ducktales, etc.

  • Please tell me I’m not the only one who wants a Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers reboot?

    • DoctorCuF

      Nope, it’s just you. 😉

  • Haven’t watched Disney XD since Wonder Over Yonder ended.
This looks really interesting, especially w/ the comic-book style.

Luckily I’m only into Star Wars Rebels. But that will change this fall thanks to Ducktales, Spider Man and Big Hero 6 respectively. Coincidentally until Tangled the Series started a few months ago, I had not watched Disney Channel full time since the days of Suite Life and Hannah Montana.

Star vs. The Forces of Evil is a pretty fun and good show on Disney XD. Give it a chance sometime!

The new version of the theme tune is slightly better than the original! Although the music drowned out the vocals a bit which I hope can be fixed on time. Also, a one hour TV movie airing 24 hours in a row? Disney must be more confidant than I thought.

  • I’m actually getting sort of excited for this one, idk why but seeing the first look again and again, and now with this theme I really like how this is coming together!
Haven’t seen the original (wasn’t exactly around when it was airing….) I am just saying as an outsider I really like what I’m seeing so far 🙂

Don’t worry. I wasn’t around either back in the late 80’s but I did watch reruns of it when Disney XD was called Toon Disney.

  • I’m officially sold after seeing that fast-paced, stylized animated, and great-sounding opening!

  • DoctorCuF

I’m excited, but also worried. The animation has the characters’ heads looking weirdly blocky (I’m a Barks purist). Huey, Dewey, and Louie all sound different (that’s new and weird). Uncle Scrooge sounds like Doctor Who, not Uncle Scrooge (Tennant’s voice is TOO recognizable).
I’ll be watching, maybe not 24 times in a row, but I’ll be watching.

Haha with me Scrooge is making me think: “Spitelout, how did you get to Duckburg?” From the How to train your Dragon series Race to the edge, David T plays Snotlout’s father.

Cannot stand whatever tween/teen who is singing the theme, but other than that it looks promising. I like how the opening looks like a living comic book. Although one of the baddies chasing Scrooge and crew looks like Ludo came out of SVTE and grew four feet taller. I have figured out how to time the old theme so I can have my Classic DT theme song with the new animated opening.

    • Manuel Orozco

The theme song is sung by Felicita Barton who is known for competing on the 8th season of American Idol. She’s actually 35.

I didn’t watch the original Ducktales but I’m completely on board with this. It sounds like this show will really take off!

Oh yeah, I’ve seen this twice already. 😛 All for the homage to the comics. Good theme, I like how kickass Mrs. Beakley is. This is going to be glllorious.
