The film, directed by Pixar veteran Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) will center around 12-year-old Miguel and his ambition to make music. The story takes its inspiration from the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos.

Unkrich promised via Twitter that the film’s first trailer will drop next week, just in time to be attached to the wide release of Beauty and the Beast.

Coco debuts in theaters November 22, 2017.

I’m still on the fence about Coco since I don’t celebrate Day of the Dead despite being Hispanic on my dad’s side. Pixar better know what they’re doing releasing the movie on Thanksgiving after what happened to Good Dinosaur over a year ago.

I am excited! Look at all those details in the poster. “Dante” might be the dog’s name, as in from “Dante’s Inferno”. All the lace giving us subtle hints to things which will happen in the narrative. This is certainly one of my most anticipated films.

  • Ooooo next week!! I’m very excited what Coco is going to be like with the trailer!! Also that dog in the poster looks so much like my neighbor’s dog that’s even more awesome!! Very hopeful about this movie from what I hear ^.^

We should expect the trailer this week

    Doggo!!!!!

  • Looks like a new skeleton character to obsess over along with Jack, Sans, & Papyrus!

  • I hope this is a good movie, considering that the animation slate this year is rather weak.

To be honest, I’m not totally excited for any animated film in particular except Smurfs: Lost Village. No guarantee I will see Coco in theatres on account of how crazy the holiday film release schedule will possibly be.
