Hello, 2017. We welcome you with deepest pride and greatest pleasure. One of the most anticipated films of the new year just dropped a major sneak peek.

Following a leaked video of a toy Belle doll singing “Something There”, Disney bit the bullet and released a high-quality audio sample of Emma Watson singing the bridge of the song. Take a listen!

This marks the first instance of any singing from the film. It’s a major milestone in the project’s publicity cycle. We most recently got the official trailer in November.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17, 2017.

What do you think of this first clip of Emma Watson as Belle?

Be still, my beating heart! Really jazzed about this particular live action film.

  • The song looks promising. Nevertheless, I’m overall not really excited for this movie.

It’s more of a pop youthful feel than the original but it was ok

  • Waaaayy too autotuned. It’s almost like they had her speak the words, and then they just autotuned it. I’m super disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I love Emma Watson. She’s a fantastic actress, extremely intelligent, and gorgeous – but she can’t sing. Wish they got someone with pipes for the role. Even a nobody would have been fine!

      yes! I completely agree :/

  • I’m honestly really excited by this, yeah its not the best singing in the whole world but for what I expected I think it meets my expectations just fine ^.^

Her vibratto is meh, she’s plainly straining to hit notes, and I am unimpressed. She has a lot of charm to her voice, it’s LIKABLE but it’s not GOOD. It’s Belle, for crying out loud. They should’ve gotten someone who can sing. This voice is going to be remembered for generations as Belle’s!?
