Question for Mr. Moore: At the end of Song of the Sea, we see Saoirse and Ben’s mom alive. If she was alive all that time, why didn’t she return earlier? P.S. I loved Saoirse! She reminds me of my younger sister when she was little.

    • Hey Emma,
Thanks for your question, we’ll make sure Tomm addresses it tomorrow. See you then!

    • Hey Emma, the answer is in 🙂

“Im glad you enjoyed the movie and I guess your little sister must have be really cute if shes like Saoirse! – as for Bronach at the end of the film – sorry if that was confusing -she was not alive – just a spirit who was awoken by the song – she could not stay as all the fairies had to leave .”

Question for Mr. Moore: Does Cartoon Saloon make movies generally with an Irish/Celtic influence or is the studio branching out as in the upcoming The Breadwinner in 2017? Thanks!

  • Gakk

What is the process Cartoon Saloon goes through to get from Pitch Doc to Television screen?

    • Hey Gakk, thanks for posing the questions. Perhaps you saw the answer already, but here it is:

“Hi … well its not always a simple process. But in broad terms I tend to start with visual development and a broad outline of the story, characters and themes. Then i work with a screenwriter and maybe some concept artists to flesh that idea out. We often make a trailer to test the styles and techniques we have in mind and to give partners and investors an idea of what we are planning. The screenplay is the most important element after that.We normally start to gather coproducers or financial partners at that stage…i could spend an hour just answering this question! its a big one! On craft you can see the various stages we go thru once the finance is in place from animatic to final picture”
