Holy trailer, Batman! (Sorry, I had to do it!) We’ve recently gotten a trailer for the upcoming animated film, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this latest animated Batman film is a unique one in that it is based on the Batman TV series from the 1960s. For those who are unaware, the Batman TV series was known for its camp style, quite unlike the modern, darker Batman adaptations. And the self-referential trailer seems to be doing all it can to capture the essence of the show!
The animated film is set to feature three of the original show’s cast members in the voice roles: Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, and Julie Newman as Catwoman. According to the trailer, even the villains, Joker, Riddler, and the Penguin are set to appear in the film.
The film will be released digitally on October 11 but will be released on Blu-ray on November 1.
How do you feel about an animated Batman film based on the 1960s TV show? How do you feel about some of the original cast members returning to voice their characters’ roles in the film? Let us know in the comments below!
