LAIKA animation studio’s upcoming movie Kubo and the Two Strings teamed up with U.S. Forest Service and Ad Council Partner for an admirable cause to encourage families to reconnect with nature.
The U.S. Forest Service (the agency responsible for overseeing the use of Smokey Bear) and Ad Council announced they would release Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) tied to the upcoming family movie Kubo and the Two Strings for their “Discover the Forest” campaign. These PSAs were produced by LAIKA for TV, radio, and outdoor. These PSAs feature clips and screen shots from the epic adventure. The film ties in beautifully with the theme of finding adventure all around (and the best place to start is in the forest).
They invite you to visit DiscoverTheForest.org to find a forest nearby to plan your own adventure. Explore their new advert below:
Kubo and the Two Strings is an epic action-adventure set in a fantastical Japan. Clever, kindhearted Kubo (voiced by Art Parkinson of Game of Thrones) ekes out a humble living, telling stories to the people of his seaside town. But his relatively quiet existence is shattered when he accidentally summons a spirit from his past which storms down from the heavens to enforce an age-old vendetta. Now on the run, Kubo joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), and sets out on a thrilling quest to save his family and solve the mystery of his fallen father, the greatest samurai warrior the world has ever known.
Focus Features will release Kubo and the Two Strings in theaters nationwide on Friday, August 19th, 2016.
