‘The Secret Life of Pets’ Full Trailer + New Poster!

The summer season has just begun! Typically, that means a few things. Students everywhere (including a few of our readers) are graduating this year. People everywhere (including some of our readers and even a few of our RotoWriters) are ready to brave the chaos of the coming travel season. But if you’re like me, than the start of summer can only mean one thing: the convention season will soon be in full force.

San Diego Comic-Con, Anime Expo, AnimeNEXT, E3, Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo, and the list goes on and on. If any of our readers are planning on traveling this summer, I have a good bet that at least some of you are traveling to attend any of the dozens upon hundreds of conventions that happen every summer. Granted, options are limited if you are strictly an animation junkie (there’s Annecy 2016, but that’s another article for another time), but that’s doesn’t mean there aren’t any cool things happening at other conventions, especially at conventions that aren’t centered around comics or animation.

Take VidCon, for example. For the uninitiated, VidCon is the world’s largest convention centered solely around online video/New Media (mainly Youtube). The event has been held ever since 2010 and has been held in Anaheim, California, since 2012 (at the Anaheim Convention Center). The event runs this year from June 23 to June 25. Normally, if you are attending the convention, you are there to see your favorite Youtubers in the flesh. But luckily for the more animation-inclined, VidCon does have a treat for you (provided that you don’t have a searing hatred for all things Illumination Entertainment).

On June 24, Youtube content network Fullscreen is hosting an early screening of The Secret Life of Pets two whole weeks before the film’s wide release on July 8th!

For the readers who are attending, the screening will occur at 7:30 PM on the 3rd floor ballroom of the convention center in the lobby of Hall D. As a bonus, the event will include pre-movie entertainment previews from Fullscreen and a post-movie(?) live show with Youtuber Grace Helbig (Writing with Grace).

On a final note, VidCon won’t be the only place where you can catch the movie. Those attending Annecy 2016 will also get to catch a world premiere screening of The Secret Life of Pets on June 16th (again, more on that in another article).

What do you think? If you are going to VidCon, are you going to attend the screening?
