As we are in the middle of the Rotoscopers’ celebration of the Oscar-nominated animated short films, we just got some news from another upcoming short film, Tonko House’s Moom! A little while ago, we got a release date, and today we got the first official trailer for the short.
Moom is Tonko House’s second animated short after 2014’s The Dam Keeper which got nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Animated Short category. Moom is based off a Japanese children’s book, and it will debut next month at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose.
There will be three screenings of Moom at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, and if you are in the area, you can now buy tickets. A part of the Tonko House Moom crew, including directors Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi, will be at the 3/5 (March 5th) screening, so if you are there, you’ll be able to meet them. After debuting here, the short will most likely travel to other film festivals around the globe.
Moom will premiere at Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose March 1, 2016.
What do you think of this first Moom trailer? Are you excited for the short?
