The animation world has been abuzz since animation legends Don Bluth and Gary Goldman announced they were doing a crowdfunding campaign for a sizzle reel for Dragon’s Lair: The Movie. The duo first started on Kickstarter, but recently moved over to Indiegogo last week.

In less than a week, the new Indiegogo campaign has amassed over $200K, reaching 80% of its $240K goal. However, they don’t want to stop at $250K, they have a lot of awesome stretch goals, contests, giveaways and more sneak peek’s for backers in the the coming weeks.

The Rotoscopers had the opportunity to sit down with Don and Gary to discuss the campaign and film. Check it out in the newest episode of the Animation Addicts Podcast!

  • Simply awesome interview and awesome campaign!

Question, who did the camerawork? Cuz I noticed some closeups happening every so often.

  • Iftekhar Ahmed

Did either of you girls provide your personal wishes for the plot of Dragon’s Lair?

Chelsea and Morgan, both of you are so lucky that you interviewed with both the Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. Thank you so much for uploading the interview, it’s always nice to see you guys interviewing several talented folks in the animation community. Also I’m impressed that Mason was able to be a part of this, even though he wasn’t with you two during that, how did you manage to do that, since this must have been a lot of technical work to have Mason being a moderator and talking with both Don and Gary a few miles away.

    *Thumbs Up 😀

Skype, amigo! Sadly I can’t make it up to Arizona as much as I’d like.

      • Ernesto Chacon

        Thanks for the reply

    • We wanted to do a Google Hangout so we could livestream the interview, but the Internet at the theaters (where we recorded) wasn’t working. So we called Mason via Skype on my cell phone, propped the phone up using a little tripod and set that in front of the camera so that we could see Mason when he wanted to ask questions. It was quick thinking, but I’m really glad that we were able to have Mason be a part!

The folks at Cartoon Brew are almost always over-the-moon pissed about anything relating to the animation industry, so articles like this are a relatively normal occurrence.

This is the first time I have ever watched/listened to one of your productions. I came here because I am really interested in this project and am backing them as much as I can. This was a truly excellent interview! You all did a really great job. Excellent questions, excellent interaction, I will be following more of your stuff in the future!
