This year’s Comic-Con revealed many juicy news pieces for animated movies and television shows, and Adventure Time is no different. It was announced that the next season of Adventure Time will feature a stop-motion animated episode.
If any show needs a stop-motion episode, it’s Adventure Time. It’s fantastical whimsical charm, as well as the idea of shapeshifting dog Jake stretched and squashed with the use of stop-motion sounds perfect. The episode will be titled “Bad Jubies” and will be in the first part of the seventh season that will air this fall. The plot revolves around Finn, Jake, BMO, and Lumpy Space Princess as they contend with deadly weather.
The episode is directed by Kirsten Lepore, an impressively accomplished stop-motion artist. A sneak peek of her episode was first shown at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 19, 2015, before it was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con and on YouTube (along with behind-the-scenes footage)! Check them both out below:
Are you a fan of ‘Adventure Time’? Do you look forward to the stop-motion episode?
