Indian Film Legend Amitabh Bachchan to Voice Superhero in ‘Astra Force’

amitabh-bachchan-astra-force

According to Variety, Indian film legend Amitabh Bachchan is set to lend his voice to a production by Disney Channel India and Graphic India. Entitled Astra Force, the 52-episode animated series tells the story of two “8-year-old twins who accidentally awaken a mythical superhero (voiced by Amitabh Bachchan) from hibernation and must teach him the ways of the world in order to save the universe from intergalactic threats.”

Mr. Bachchan is quoted as having said, “It’s now India’s time to create new heroes and animated shows to spark the imaginations of children all across the world.”

This won’t be the first time that the Bollywood sensation (who made his Hollywood debut in 2013 with The Great Gatsby) voices an animated character. He previously lent his voice to the 2013 animated Indian film, Mahabharat, which was based on the Sanskrit epic of the same name.

Are you excited about this new TV series? Do you think it will have a positive impact on India’s animation industry? Let us know in the comments below!
