Earlier today, Illumination Entertainment debuted its new trailer for The Secret Life of Pets. Now, it’s Sony Pictures Animation’s turn (and no, it’s not a teaser for Get Smurfy).
The studio debuted a new trailer for Hotel Transylvania 2, the sequel to the first film that saw the big screen directorial debut of Genndy Tartakovsky (who is also in the director’s chair for the sequel).
Watch the trailer here:
The film picks up years after the original film (the titular hotel is now fully integrated with humans and monsters). The plot revolves around Count Dracula’s attempts to make his grandson, Dennis (the son of Jonathan and Mavis), a true-blue vampire while Jonathan and Mavis visit Jonathan’s parents in California (Mavis considers it a more suitable place for her son to live). All the while, they have to deal with Dracula’s father, Vlad, who doesn’t think much of humans and isn’t quite satisfied with the new state of the hotel.
This film doesn’t excite me the way The Peanuts Movie does, but the first film was better than it had any right to be. Also, because this film is made with Genndy Tartakovsky’s full involvement (the first Hotel Transylvania went through six directors before Genndy got on board), it might just give something a little extra than what might be expected.
Hotel Transylvania 2 lands in theaters on September 25, 2015.
What do you think? Now that the full trailer is out, are you looking forward to Hotel Transylvania 2?
