Animated ‘Transformers’ Prequel Possibly Coming

transformers

According to ScreenCrush, a fully animated film may be entering the Transformers franchise. It has been announced that writer/director Akiva Goldsman is heading a “think tank” that will deal with “shepherding this franchise forward.” The writers of the forthcoming Marvel film, Ant-Man, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, have joined this group.

The news that interests us animation fans is that they may be working on a prequel in this franchise entitled Transformers One. The film would be entirely animated (reminding one of the 1986 film, The Transformers: The Movie) and focus on the “early days of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons” on the planet, Cybertron.

I, for one, am getting tired of these Transformers films, but a fully animated one could possibly get me interested in them again.

How do you feel about a fully animated Transformers film? How do you feel about the Transformers franchise? Let us know in the comments below!
