Sir Ian McKellen and Gugu Mbatha-Raw Join Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast has reeled in two more actors. Sir Ian McKellen and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have joined the film’s cast which includes Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Emma Thompson, Josh Gad, Audra McDonald, and Kevin Kline. Sir Ian McKellen is set to play the role of the clock, Cogsworth, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw is set to play the feather duster named Plumette, according to Variety.

I have no problem with Gugu Mbatha-Raw being in this film as she has shown a musical side in the film, Beyond the Lights. Regarding Sir Ian McKellen, I personally find that a very amusing choice to play Cogsworth, not necessarily in a bad way or a good way; I just find it amusing. All I’m thinking of right now is:

"COULDN'T KEEP QUIET, COULD WE? JUST HAD TO INVITE HIM TO STAY, DIDN'T WE? SERVE HIM TEA. SIT IN THE MASTER'S CHAIR. PET THE POOCH!"
“COULDN’T KEEP QUIET, COULD WE? JUST HAD TO INVITE HIM TO STAY, DIDN’T WE? SERVE HIM TEA. SIT IN THE MASTER’S CHAIR. PET THE POOCH!”

Anyway, the film is set to be directed by Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Mr. Holmes) and set to be released on March 17, 2017.

How do you feel about Sir Ian McKellen and Gugu Mbatha-Raw being in this film? Has it increased or decreased your interest in this film? Let us know in the comments below!
