Cartoon Hangover Expands International Reach with ‘Fin Punch!’

FinPunch

They carved a name for themselves as the popular Youtube channel known for hit shows like Bravest Warriors and Bee and Puppycat. Now they hope to build upon that success by branching out into the world of English-language distribution.

According to Deadline, Frederator Studios, the parent company of Youtube channels Cartoon Hangover and Channel Frederator, will begin looking to international territories to acquire foreign-language shows and properties to be dubbed into English for distribution for Cartoon Hangover and other divisions.

The strategy kicked off with the acquisition of a show titled Fin Punch! (Personas Cetaceas in its original language) from Marmota Studios in Chile. Having debuted not too long ago, the 18-episode series is being dubbed exclusively for Cartoon Hangover, with two episodes uploaded on the channel each week.

“There are no borders that define the best animation in the world and we will continue to search across the globe for programming that we think will appeal to our audience,” Seibert said. “The approach we’re taking with Fin Punch! is based (on) a standard broadcast distribution strategy – something that I think can work well for our network as we move forward.”

Here’s the plot synopsis for Fin Punch!:

Fin Punch is set in an alternative universe where human live on land with marine mammals such as a dolphin and narwhal that are plotting world domination.

The first episode of Fin Punch! can be viewed here:

What do you think? Is this the type of show you’d be interested in watching?
