Nickelodeon is on its way to changing the way people both learn and consume animation. Thanks to its partnership with Get Schooled, aspiring animators may now have a chance to earn an excellent scholarship to help them reach their cartooning aspirations through school.
$25,000 will be awarded to one student, between the ages of 17-25, who completes an application and submits the best animated short. Though the scholarship is only awarded to those in the specified age bracket, Nickelodeon will also take submissions from 13-16 year-olds for chances to win prizes (including a tablet with animation software).
Official details and an application page have yet to be released, but Nickelodeon has set up a sign up page for those who want more information and official details: GetSchooled.com.
A winner is expected to be selected and announced later this summer. So, get to work!
Thanks to Animated Magazine for the information about this exciting opportunity.
Will you be submitting to the competition? What kind of shorts would you like to see in this competition?
