The SpongeBob Movie: Out of Water recently released three new posters, spoofing other films, and reactions are… mixed.

The most controversial of the three new posters is one in which SpongeBob spoofs Fifty Shades of Grey. Let’s just say that a children’s movie spoofing such an adult film has been deemed by most people as highly inappropriate. People are able to create innuendo out of SpongeBob, and it just seems like a poor promotional choice on the part of a film marketed towards children.

The other two movie posters are definitely less controversial, and much more of what one would expect to be spoofed by SpongeBob.

The first depicts a spoof of Jurassic World.  Something about a giant SpongeBob going rogue and attacking amusement park guests does sound like a good plot for a movie.

Terminator Genisys also got the yellow treatment.

Here’s the trailer that aired during the Super Bowl as well:

What do you think of the SpongeBob posters? Was the ’50 Shades’ one in bad taste or all in good fun?
