“Where there is kindness, there is goodness. And where there is goodness, there is magic.”
Fairytale lovers are in for a special treat as Disney has released a beautiful and classy new trailer as well as a poster for their upcoming 2015 film, Cinderella.
The trailer makes it clear that this movie will be heavy on CGI (of course). Everything from the backgrounds to the clock tower, the mice and even Cinderella’s dress seem to be computer generated. However, Cinderella seems to be less Maleficent and more of a sincere take on a classic story we all know and love. In fact, it looks and feels like a Jane Austen story.
Check out the brand new trailer below:
Lily James seems a good fit for the role. She is able to carry the humility and charm of the titular heroine very well. It’s also nice that we get a few mother-daughter moments, which is something the animated film left out. The movie also seems to be sprinkled with feel good messages and a theme of goodness overcoming hatred. Overall, it looks like this film will bear the trademark Disney touch, with a few twists of course.
Also, check out the gorgeous new poster we have for the film. If this doesn’t have you hyped, what will?
Inspired by the classic fairytale as well as the 1950 Disney animated film, but with several new twists and surprises, Cinderella is the latest of a series of Disney movies which aim to revive animated classics for a new generation. This new adaptation stars Lily James as “Ella”, Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother and Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine. Prince “Kit” Charming will be played by Richard Madden and the roles of the step sisters Anastasia and Drisella will be played by Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera. Cinderella releases March 13, 2015.
