The incredibly successful My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic franchise is releasing its second feature-length animated spin-off film in just a few weeks.

To celebrate My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, Hasbro has created five new shorts to help reacquaint us with the stars of the film. The shorts aren’t directly part of the film, but do have elements that are tied to it.

This film follows up after the first Equestria Girls spin-off film, bringing our favorite ponies back into the human world. This time, they are competing in a rock band competition.

MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS: RAINBOW ROCKS the movie finds Canterlot High (CHS) hosting a musical showcase, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy are going to be performing with their new band, The Rainbooms. But when The Dazzlings, a new girl group, arrive at CHS and convince everyone to turn the friendly showcase into a Battle of the Bands, tensions mount between the competing musical acts. A now-reformed Sunset Shimmer realizes that the Dazzlings may not be ordinary girls and are after something far more sinister than just being named Best Band at Canterlot High. The Rainbooms call on Princess Twilight to restore harmony to their world to help them perform a musical counter-spell so that they can win a battle that now determines the fate of the entire school!

My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks will have a limited release in theatres on September 27 before hitting Blu-ray and DVD a month later on October 28 (pre-order on Amazon here). To see if the film is being shown near you and to purchase tickets, click here.
