As Once Upon a Time approaches its season four premiere, news is coming full throttle.
ABC revealed the hit program will officially return Sunday, September 28 at 8 p.m. EST, followed by the season premieres of Resurrection at 9 and Revenge at 10.
Filming is underway, and with this season spotlighting Frozen, E Online reports the cast got a visit from a very special Disney Animation luminary. “John Lasseter himself flew up to Vancouver. He’s integrally related to the way we’re doing [Frozen],” said ABC President Paul Lee. John Lasseter is onboard with this thing. If that doesn’t speak highly to the integrity of Frozen‘s story arc on Once, nothing will.
Frozen‘s wild popularity is no secret, and ABC is already thinking about putting a full-blown Once spinoff in the works. Of series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Lee said, “We don’t have immediate plans for a Frozen spinoff, but they’re so inventive, those two… Eddy and Adam are endlessly inventive, so they have glints in their eyes of stories that they can spin for years to come. So it certainly doesn’t rule out their ability or my ability to go beyond Once.”
Last year, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland held a short spinoff stint and was not renewed for a second season, though apparently the network is still open to the idea of other continuations.
