MAC Cosmetics has released a new line of makeup inspired by Disney’s new film Maleficent.

The new Maleficent line consists of permanent and limited-edition products in special Maleficent packaging. The packaging has the Maleficent logo with a pair of ominous black wings. The collection itself is very dark and sultry–it is based off the mistress of all evil, after all. Dark smokey eyes, bright red lips and heavily contoured cheeks are staples to Maleficent’s look.

Take a look at the products, descriptions and prices below.

It’s interesting that Disney chose MAC to release this Maleficent makeup line. Recently, the company chose to partner with Sephora, the powerhouse makeup superstore, for many of its Disney and princess-related makeup lines. I’m happy to see Disney release the collection with MAC Cosmetics because, in my opinion, MAC’s quality is significantly better than many of the other Disney-inspired releases I’ve tested out at Sephora. MAC has also released a few other Disney-themed lines such as the Venomous Villains Collection in 2010 and the Disney Lip Conditioners in 2006.

Mysterious, magnificent and much misunderstood – Disney’s most iconic villain, brought to life this summer in the epic new film, “Maleficent,” inspires a limited-edition colour collection in specially designed packaging to delight the most demanding of dark sorceresses. Intensely admired for her evil elegance, despite her efforts to instill fear in the hearts of generations, this icon casts a spell of absolute adoration
with sensuous shades for eyes, face, lips and nails so wickedly gorgeous, who needs beauty sleep?

“Maleficent,” the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from “Sleeping Beauty,” reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora. The film stars Angelina Jolie and opens in theaters this summer.

The collection is available both online and in stores now. But hurry, these limited-edition collections tend to sell out fast.

What is your favorite item in the MAC Maleficent collection?
