First Look & Logo for New Disney Doggie Animated Short ‘Feast’

It’s been a bit quiet about new Disney shorts since Get A Horse! debuted last November. But now Disney has revealed that its newest animated short will be titled Feast and will play before Big Hero 6.

Check out the title treatment below:

Feast is directed by Patrick Osborne, who has head of animation for Paperman. The story tells about one man’s love life told through the eyes of his best furry pal, a dog named Winston. The plot is revealed bite by bite through the meals that they share.

We also were treated to our first official look at the movie, which shows a scrumptious-looking bowl of dog kibble (it even has a little big of garnish) and the shadow of the happy panting Winston. The image is bright, fun and almost resembles concept art. It’s hard to know whether this is an official still from the film or just a concept sketch. The 2D-CGI hybrid technique that was used in Paperman was lauded for being beautiful and engaging; however, Disney didn’t reveal whether the film would be in this style or not. This technique is something that Osborne is very familiar with, so it seems likely that Disney would like to explore it more.

Feast is set to premiere at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 10, 2014 and will play before Big Hero 6 on November 7, 2014.

What are your thoughts about Feast?
