Storybrooke might just collide with Arendelle in the future of ABC’s hit drama Once Upon a Time.
The Latin Post reports that creators/writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently spoke of how infatuated the crew is with Frozen, and how they would be “honored” for Kristen Bell or Idina Menzel to appear on OUAT as Anna and Elsa. Bell later replied that the opportunity would be “unbelievable.”
This is by no means a formal announcement, as the idea is still in the what-if stage, but with both parties being enthusiastic and given Frozen‘s immense success, the scenario is certainly a likelihood.
Once Upon a Time is known for its inventive takes on classic fairytales, and with the backing of Disney as ABC’s parent company, the show has full access to Disney’s entire library of animated characters. Some of the current season’s new additions to the cast include Ariel, Rapunzel, and Peter Pan. If Kristen Bell were to reprise Anna for OUAT, it would mark the first time the original Disney voice actress portrayed the same character in the ABC program.
Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. With its season finale already filmed, any possibility of Anna or any Frozen characters appearing on the show would be until at least season four’s debut in September (provided the pretty-sure assumption the series will be renewed).
